APPROACH
My orientation and philosophy are centered around the idea that - because of how our modern society operates - there is now a large gap between what time, energy, and resources we have and what our brains and bodies were meant for. What we call symptoms are often a signal that something is out of alignment. I aim to help patients, families, and communities identify these gaps and what work could be done together, leveraging strengths and a community of care, to work toward collective healing.
I see my role overall as a co-investigator, as part of a team working with you, the natural workings of your mind, body, spirit, and lifestyle, other healthcare providers and therapists, and supports in your life to understand your journey.
Above all else, I believe in the power of relationships in the path toward wholeness, which is why I focus on regular, long-term therapeutic work with patients. In my practice I do a very thorough, often ongoing assessment, and then use a variety of therapy modalities, medications that are both prescribed and integrative, expanded states of consciousness, and suggestions for lifestyle changes as aids.
I work best with patients and families who are committed to their health and wellness, and wish to invest in a partnership on the path to long-term growth.
Dr. Jamarie Geller, MD, MA
I am a contemplative child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and psychotherapist whose highest values are community, connection, authenticity, compassion, and play.
I embarked on 17 years of education in medicine and mental health and healing because I believe in possibility. My passion lies most in true integration — when science, soul, community, and relational attunement meet. I find great joy in learning about other people and fulfillment in sitting with their stories. I also love learning about different healing philosophies and modalities, and thinking deeply with patients about what tools may be most useful now.
